Let’s talk Deltarune, the spiritual successor of Undertale that is on everyone’s lips. I finally managed to play it last weekend, and boy, Toby Fox has done it again.
First Impressions: What Makes This Game Unique
Right off the bat, I was hit with that charming Undertale nostalgia the moment I entered the game. However, don’t think for a moment that this is simply Undertale 2.0. The new characters? Instant classics. The combat? Somehow even more refined. And the soundtrack? Just say I’m going to go all Toby Fox this year on my Spotify Wrapped
Key Features That Stood Out:
Characters You’ll Care About: From the anxious Ralsei to the chaotic Kris, the writing makes you invested fast
Combat That Feels Fresh: The bullet hell mechanics were made even better while keeping that signature Undertale feel
Visuals That Pop: Temmie’s pixel art somehow looks even better this time around

Pro Tip: Your antivirus might freak out. Just temporarily disable it during install – it’s fine, we’ve all been there.
After sinking a few hours, I’m convinced this might just beat Undertale for me. The characters feel more fleshed out, the combat’s gotten better, and that trademark Toby Fox weirdness has been cranked to 11; seriously, get on this game if you have any love for indie RPGs.
